Global Head of Profit Protection
Aimee is currently Global Head of Profit Protection for Dyson Aimee has been in the Loss Prevention Industry for over 20 years in Retail with Texas and Homebase, Foodservice with Compass Group and manned guarding with Interserve, before heading back into Retail with Arcadia and more recently Dyson.
Charged with setting up the team from scratch at Dyson within the innovative culture of a future facing business, where failure is applauded as part of the journey the opportunities are endless, so keeping it simple it the main challenge!
Head of Loss Prevention
Dave took up his role as Head of Loss Prevention at Card Factory in early 2016. His collaborative hearts and minds approach to organisational loss quickly paid dividends and this culminated in the double award of Retail Risk Director 2018 and In-Store Profit Protection Team of The Year 2018.
Previously Dave spent many years working for the retail estate of Post Office where he led operational risk teams, physical security elements and crime intelligence.
With over 30 years of operational crime risk expertise, Dave combines a credible and engaging approach to organisational loss with sound academic underpinnings and above all a keen sense of humour!
Director of Loss Prevention for Europe
With a retail career spanning over 26 years, starting in grocery management and moving into Loss Prevention back in 1996, Graeme joined URBN in 2010 and is currently Director of Loss Prevention for Europe, having steadily built a team responsible for all aspects of LP, Security and Investigations within the Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie and Free People brands and operating across 12 Countries.
Prior to his current role, he has held varied Loss Prevention and senior management positions with Boots, Arcadia and G4S and is passionate about the industry and identifying and developing the next generation of LP professionals.
Corporate Crime & Security Manager
Helen has been in the retail loss and security industry for the last 16 years, with a long career at Boots UK and more recently Sainsburys. Starting off as an internal investigator, Helen broadened out into security threats, forensic investigation, incident management and business continuity. She is passionate about monitoring and responding to security risks that may impact a business directly or indirectly, now or in the future.
Group Loss Prevention Manager
Luke Hudman served in HM Forces Army for 10 years, spending time in Norway, Falklands, Germany and served in Operation Desert Storm N Iraq – South Turkey (1990-1). On leaving the Army, Luke spent time with various uniformed guarding companies providing services for MOD Abbeywood and Orange Mobile phones head office in Almondsbury to named but two, before starting his career in retail security with ASDA Stores Ltd. While working with ASDA he was promoted to Profit Improvement Manager responsible for H&S, Trading Standards, Security and Administration (P&Ls). After a number of successful years with ASDA he moves to MAKRO Self Service Wholesale to support the start-up of a new Loss Prevention Team. During his time at MAKRO an opportunity was presented to work with Lloyds Pharmacy.
After nearly 15 years with Lloyds Pharmacy he has seen many changes in the Pharmaceutical industry and the NHS. Luke now Group Loss Prevention manager, supporting 10 business, which including a retail sector comprising over 1,500 retail outlets and a wholesale sector with 17 warehouses. This role has provided many challenges and upskilling, which has included the Loss Prevention Managers in the team. During his time as GLPM Luke has taken on the role of Counter Fraud Specialist for the Group required by the NHS contract, which has provided new insights into fraud and built relationships with the newly appointed NHS Counter Fraud Authority.
Head of Loss Prevention
Richard has almost spent his entire working career within retail and commercial organisations, with the previous 19 years in senior roles in the Security & Loss Prevention sector.
He is currently the interim Head of Loss Prevention for the Post Office Limited having previously fulfilled similar roles with Travis Perkins, Wickes, Dixons Stores Group and Virgin Retail Limited.
A Certified Forensic Interviewer (CFI), Richard played an instrumental part in setting up WZ-UK to enable the Wicklander-Zulawski non-confrontational interview technique to be more freely available in the UK market.
Head of Risk
Annette lives in the beautiful county of Somerset with her husband and 22 year old son. She has been working within Retail Audit for over 20 years and has been in her current role at Superdrug for over 11 years. Leading a team of 15 whose audit remit covers retail stores, pharmacies, Distribution and Superdrug’s multi-channel operations.
She believes there is a real synergy between the role of audit and loss prevention in any retail organization and together they are real force to be reckoned with in tackling and driving out business risk and losses.
Chief Operating Officer
Georgie Barnard has a background in law enforcement and as a senior Detective set up and led the first ever National Business Crime Centre for the UK, aimed at supporting law enforcement and national businesses to tackle cyber and organised crime. A police officer for over 30 years, she moved from front line policing to become a Detective, working within the Sexual Offences Command, Domestic Violence, Intelligence, and Counter Terrorism where she was part of the national investigation team post London bombings.
Georgie strongly believes in the power of collaboration. She has been responsible for delivering a range of national business crime initiatives by bringing together enforcement agencies and private companies. She set up the national Police and Security initiative, aimed at improving collaboration between police and private security to improve service delivery to the public. Georgie continues to work closely with the SIA and currently sits on their Training Standards Board.
A keen advocate of leadership for all, Georgie divides her time between running her own consultancy and working closely with Red Leadership. She also sits on the Professional Standards Committee for the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons.
Director of Risk & Compliance
Hayley Smith is Director of Risk and Compliance at Buzz Group. She has been in the gambling industry for over 20 years with 15 years experience in Risk Management. She covers a wide range of Risk and Compliance from the regulatory requirements, H&S, fraud and payments, and risk management.
Head of Risk
John heads up all risk function teams for the UK national high street chain Game Retail Ltd along with the Player 1 Events and the Belong brands where over the last eleven years he has held senior operational and risk management positions. His wide-ranging responsibilities include all the risk functions including, Loss Prevention, Multi-Channel Fraud Payments, Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), Health & Safety, insurance, information Security (IS) and internal audit for the UK and Spain.
John has a strong and diverse retail background having previously worked for a number of UK big retail brands including the Co-operative Group (food) in senior operational roles and the retail management section of Bass. He is also currently a member of the Institute of Risk management (IRM).
At Game Retail Ltd the aim is to deliver an innovative approach to loss prevention to deliver and provide an Omni channel solution that is in a restless and constant state of innovative development, providing first class service to the business with touch points in every element of business controls and recognises the correlation of risks across the sales channels and the loss typology.
Multi-channel Fraud Analyst
The White Company
Paul heads up the Fraud team as Multi-channel Fraud analyst at the White Company where he has been for the last three years, the role answers into the Head of Loss Prevention.
Previously he worked in Loss Prevention roles at River Island and John Lewis.
He is currently responsible for the management of the fraud team who monitor fraud and payments to ensure commercial opportunities are identified and fraud & risk are managed effectively in an international multi-channel environment. Customer experience is at the fore front of their values which means the fraud team must always be one step ahead.
The team focus on both internal and external investigations, assisting three regional LP auditors and supporting the contact centre in Northampton.
Head of Risk
After a 13 year career at Littlewoods and Index in various operation and safety roles, Stuart joined The Entertainer in 2005 when it was a 35 store chain. Over the last 14 years the company has grown to 165 sites across the UK with 20 international franchise locations. In 2018 63 concessions were installed into Matalan store and the Spanish toy chain Poly joined the group. 2019 has started with the acquisition of The Early Learning Centre from Mothercare.
Managing a team of 6 – Stuart has responsibility for all profit protection, safety, internal audit, stock integrity, GDPR and QA. Every day brings a new challenge which keeps the team engaged. With a small management and exec team, The Entertainer continues to grow and develop and challenge itself to work smarter and more efficiently.
