Carly Richards – Director, Contract and Compliance, KPMG Australia
Carly joined KPMG Australia in the Risk Consultancy team about 3 months ago after spending 22 years in an Operational Retail role. She has led teams in the retail loss prevention space for 17 years. Working for Omni-channel retails (Argos and Target Australia) has meant that fraud has been at the heart of her focus. Working for Target enabled Carly to bring the learnings from the UK into the Australian market place.
Carly is always looking for innovative and analytical solutions and the application of a slightly ‘different approach’! KPMG allows her to use insight through thought leadership and best practice with the opportunity to see and test what is globally considered best in class to provide solutions to clients.
Mark Boyd – Group Risk Manager, Glue Group
Mark has global experience in all aspects of Loss Prevention and Risk starting in the UK with HMV, Virgin Megastores & BHS through to TK Maxx and big box retails such as House of Fraser and Toys R Us and finally River Island before moving to Kuwait and managing the Loss Prevention function for the entire Northern Gulf consisting of Kuwait, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon & Cyprus responsible for over 50 different brands & 600 stores for Alshaya the region’s biggest franchise retailer. Mark relocated to New Zealand to take up a senior Loss Prevention role for The Warehouse Group the country’s largest retailer to support them reduce a significant Shrink result. Mark then became the Group Risk Manager for Next Athleisure a retail fashion group consisting of Glue Store, JD Sports Fashion & Trend Imports based in Sydney Australia, he is responsible for the overall Risk Strategy, including Business Continuity, Shrink Control and Audit.
Josh Gatt – Group Risk Manager, Forever New Clothing
Josh is currently the Group Risk Manager at Forever New Clothing, a market leader in women’s fashion with over 250 stores in both Australia and New Zealand and throughout the world. He has over 13 years’ experience in the retail sector, with a special focus on retail operations and loss prevention, during which time he has developed a preferred approach of pro-active and direct engagement & coaching teams.
Currently Josh’s focus at Forever New is elevating the traditional Loss Prevention function to develop with key business stakeholders, an all-encompassing and strategically focussed Enterprise Risk Management program.
Josh has a passion for the niche Retail Risk industry and is on the steering committee for the Profit Protection Future Forum, which aims to grow the industry through awareness & thought leadership.
Mushtaque Rahamat – International Supply Chain and e-Commerce Loss Prevention specialist and co-founder of www.compare2ship.com
Mushtaque is a Certified Supply Chain Manager (CSCM) from ISCEA, USA and CSCP (APICS trained) with almost twenty years of progressive accomplishment of leading Supply Chain and logistics management of multinational and start-up companies of Fashion, Retail and construction material. Formerly Head of Supply Chain at Basicxx Middle East, Dubai, Mushtaque has recently relocated to Adelaide, Australia and is co-founder of the Middle East’s first logistics’ aggregator portal called www.compare2ship.com
Marc Sirianni – Group Loss Prevention Manager, Accent Group Limited
Marc is a Risk Management professional specialising in Loss Prevention and Profit Protection. He has 20 years retail experience, accompanied by a background in Investigations, Finance, Banking and insurance.
Marc is currently the Group Loss Prevention Manager at Accent Group Limited, Marc is across both the retail and wholesale side of the business responsible for inventory control, shrinkage, traditional loss prevention and risk management functions across all areas of the business (Retail Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, e Commerce and I.T).
Marc has assisted businesses from small operators to large multi nationals to identify, mitigate and eventually eliminate losses that would have otherwise gone unnoticed.
The largest opportunity in any retailer is Visibility – “if you can’t see it you can’t fix it”. By applying methods encompassing Risk Management principles and applying those to the realm of traditional Loss Prevention Marc has proven success in being able to reduce shrink, increasing profitability while driving compliance through operational excellence.
Steve Schenk – Business Development Manager – Inventory Specialist, Johnson Controls (ANZ)
Steve Schenk is Business Development Manager – Inventory Specialist for Tyco Retail Solutions Australia New Zealand (ANZ). In his role, Steve has helped position the Tyco Retail Solutions Inventory platform, TrueVUE, to be the market leader in the adoption and implementation of RFID applications for retailers in ANZ.
Steve has spent over 25 years in the apparel industry spanning sales, design, production, sourcing, supply chain and import and distribution. More recently he has dedicated the better part of the last decade advocating for RFID, data accuracy and the Internet of Things to drive brick and mortar and Omni channel operational, sales and cost savings benefits for retailers locally and globally.
His expertise across the scope of retail operations is derived from working for and with organisations such as Inditex Zara, Paul Smith, NBA, MLB, PAS Group and Checkpoint Systems. He is highly regarded in the industry and has delivered numerous key notes on the benefits of RFID in retail and supply chain. Steve lives in Melbourne with his wife and 2 children.
Robert Evans – Senior Manager APP SE Asia, Burberry
Paul Fleet – National Investigations Manager, Woolworths Food Group
Paul Fleet is the National Investigations Manager for Woolworths Food Group. During his time with Woolworths, Paul has also overseen the Profit Protection function for a number of years as Head of Profit Protection as well as previously managing Asset Investigations teams across a number of States in the Woolworths Group.
Before joining Woolworths, Paul was in the Queensland Police Service, working across a number of roles in both metropolitan and rural areas.
Paul has studied of note a Bachelor of Laws and is currently completing a Masters and Bachelor of HR.
